My First Visit
When I first went to Pewsey Vale riding centre I was very nervous because I didn't know what it was like. On my fourth week I met this girl called Ellen who was very kind and a few weeks later I got moved on to a canter lesson and I missed speaking to Ellen.
But I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. My instructor Jill is very good and I ride different ponies from moody ones to lovely ones, like Little Henry who I ride often now. The different ponies are getting me used to the many behaviours of ponies.
Exercising the Rider
I watched as my rider collected the tack together, the girth slid off the saddle twice and on picking it up the second time my bridle slipped from her shoulder just enough to dangle in the mud, forcing her to put everything down again to clean it (she knew I wouldn't take a dirty bridle). She got to the field, manhandled the gate and stood in the pile of pooh I left her as a thank you for cleaning up the rest of my field. She was getting hot by now.
Donned in safety hat with bridle in hand my prospective ride approached - oh what fun I had running in circles - it's surprising how quickly I can turn - and how dizzy my rider can get in this game. She was getting sweaty now. I was left in peace for a while, wondering what happened to my rider when around the corner she came, with help, no doubt to catch me. She had definately worked up a brow dripping sweat now. So to show her up and demonstrate what a good pony I am I stood my ground and let them both walk to me and fit the bridle.
Well if I'm going out for exercise I do it safe in the knowledge that my rider has also had some to..
Anna
Once upon a time there lived a little girl named Anna. Anna always dreamt she had her own pony and because she went to horse riding lessons she used to pretend the pony she was given was her own.
One day Anna was going to her local stables to have her lesson. When she got there everyone was crowded around a notice board. Aimee, her best friend called her over to show her what all the excitement was about. The notice board was filled with details about the 'Own a pony week'.
All through her lesson, while trying to concentrate Anna could not stop thinking about the own a pony week. Right after the lesson Anna signed up for the week.
Through the post came the letter addressed to Anna. She was so excited she couldn't open it so got her Mother to do it for her. When Anna found out she was going to 'own' Buzby she was over the moon and couldn't wait for the week to arrive.
Pony week arrived and Anna was up at 6.00am getting ready and playing with her model ponies. Anna's mum finally told her to get in the car, which she did in a flash. At pony week Anna was having the time of her life looking after Buzby.
